The Renter's Survival Kit

A printable move-in checklist, maintenance request template, and links to Arizona housing resources.

Before you apply

Read the current rental criteria and listing. Confirm availability, total move-in costs, recurring charges, pet requirements, utilities, and the application process. Prepare identity, income, rental history, and references for the secure application portal. Do not send sensitive documents through the website contact form.

Your move-in record

  • Record the property address, inspection date, and names present.
  • Photograph every room and any existing damage; retain dated originals.
  • Check doors, windows, locks, fixtures, appliances, plumbing, and visible leaks.
  • Ask management how to report concerns about alarms or safety equipment.
  • Record keys, remotes, access devices, meter readings where applicable, and the provided inventory.
  • Submit your condition report through the approved channel and keep confirmation.
